about.

I’m Evan DeCiren: Illustrator, designer, and Motorsport fanatic. I turn cars, bikes, and racing legends into graphic art that blends Vintage flair with modern design… with a touch of the Dark Side.

The Story of Evan DeCiren

( between gasoline, ink, and a touch of madness )

I was born and raised in the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland, in a humble family but with one important detail: my father was a superbike mechanic. The result? I spent more of my childhood inside a Honda HRC racing team camper than in any playground. While other kids played with toy cars, I was breathing gasoline and listening to race briefings.

That’s when I understood two essential things: motorcycles are loud (very loud), and I wanted to draw. Always. Since I was a kid, I immersed myself in comics, from Mickey Mouse to Japanese manga, and from the legendary Steve Ditko with his timeless Spider-Man, who always accompanied me, to the dream of one day turning those pages into something of my own.

But my story has always run on two parallel tracks: mechanics and illustration. I studied both how to repair vehicles and how to draw them. A sort of mechanic-illustrator
(or illustrator-mechanic, depending on the day).

At first, my drawings were strongly influenced by manga, then came the great masters like Mike Mignola, Frank Miller, and Eduardo Risso, who taught me the power of having a unique style. Today, however, my greatest source of inspiration is Benjamin Bénéteau with his work on Michel Vaillant: the perfect example of how to combine art, speed, and storytelling in a truly cinematic way.

That’s why I like to think of myself as a bridge between two worlds: on one side, hands stained with engine oil; on the other, hands stained with digital ink. In between lies my unstoppable passion for motorsport, design, and stories that make imagination race.

And yes, I admit it: every now and then I still take things apart. But today…
I put them back together much better.
